What does FIFO mean?

FIFO (First In – First Out) refers to a process in which the goods are stored in a certain way. The items that are stored first are also removed first.

FIFO is a common procedure in logistics, since items that are stored first must also be consumed first. In the food industry in particular, attention must be paid to the best-before date and the FIFO principle.
