What is inventory controlling?
Inventory controlling is made up of the German word "Bestands" and the English word "(to) control". Inventory controlling is part of materials management and offers extensive analysis functions for monitoring, evaluating and adjusting stock levels in the warehouse.
A distinction is made between three different types of stock:
- The actual stock level
- The physically available stock
- The book inventory
Inventory controlling is about streamlining the warehouse in order to maintain an overview in an increasingly crowded market. The aim is to achieve a possible improvement in stocks and throughput times.
