In addition to transportation, handling and storage processes, there are other tasks along the value chain. Logistics service providers or freight forwarders offer their customers a comprehensive logistics solution in all phases of the logistics chain with value-added services. These include the following value-added services:

Product-oriented value-added services:

  • Assembly/disassembly work
  • Repair
  • Packing/repacking
  • Product refinement
  • Quality control

Process-oriented value added services:

  • Order picking
  • Packaging

Logistics service providers and manufacturers generally work closely together to ensure long-term and tailored cooperation. The value-added services are set out in a contract, the so-called contract.
