Radio data terminal

What are radio data terminals?

In the industrial and logistics sector, radio data terminals enable fast access to information. For example, they can be connected to the warehouse management software via WLAN. They can also be used to implement other warehouse management systems and can be used in a variety of ways.

How do wireless data terminals differ from conventional terminals?

Radio data terminals in logistics differ from conventional terminals primarily in their design. As conditions in the warehouse are usually tougher than at home, the terminals must also offer appropriate protection. For example, their compact industrial design prevents dirt, dust or water from penetrating.

But they are also protected against physical influences such as vibrations and shocks. Nevertheless, they are easy to operate - even with gloves, depending on the model.

This makes radio data terminals ideal for use:

  • In the warehouse (installed in fixed locations)
  • On industrial trucks
  • On machines
  • As mobile devices (for order picking, for example)
