Mobile data acquisition (MDE)

With mobile data entry (MDE), data can be recorded at any location via barcodes, keyboard input and transponders. The recorded data is optionally sent to the computer via wireless LAN, GPRS or collected via a docking station. Often this type of capture is found in industrial, manufacturing and commercial enterprises.

Application of mobile data collection:

  • Warehouse management, in particular for inventory, article withdrawal, shipping and goods receipt and issue
  • Inventory displays
  • Filling shelves
  • Proof of delivery

Devices for mobile data collection can have various functions integrated, e.g. a barcode reader, RFID, a keyboard, a touch screen and a camera.
