What is the load securing?
Load securing is used to secure goods and raw materials in logistics for transport. With the help of load securing devices, the movement of the load during transport should be prevented.
During transport, different things can trigger physical forces of motion that can have an impact on the cargo. This includes, for example:
- Accelerate
- Brakes
- Driving through curves
If the load is not properly secured, cargo shifting may occur, which can affect safe operational transport.
What are the types of load securing?
In load securing, a distinction is made between positive and non-positive securing:
- With form-fit cargo securing, the cargo is stowed against the sides of the cargo space to prevent movement.
- In friction-locked load securing, various load securing devices are used which prevent the goods from slipping. These include, for example, tensioning chains, spindle tensioners or tensioning belts. These are placed over the load in the truck and then attached to the cargo area and tightened.
