IPCs in continuous use - computers in industry
Both in industry and in other sectors such as logistics, many computers often run at full speed and in continuous operation. The reason for this is that warehouses and production facilities are usually in operation around the clock - and the computers and systems used are of course an essential prerequisite.
Especially in logistics and industry, such computers must be able to withstand many external environmental influences. These include, for example:
- Shock
- Vibrations
- Shocks
- Humidity
- Dust
- Cold and heat
Since ordinary computers usually give up the ghost quickly under such circumstances, special IPCs are used in these areas - so-called industrial PCs.
Equipped for continuous operation: IPCs
In order to function in continuous operation, most IPCs are equipped with special components in both hardware and software. These are intended to increase the service life of the machines. These include, for example, shatterproof housings and touchscreens as control elements.
