Inventory Controlling

What is Inventory Controlling?

Inventory controlling is a combination of the German word "Bestands" and the English word "(to) control". Inventory controlling is part of materials management and offers extensive analysis functions for controlling, evaluating and adjusting inventory levels in the warehouse.

A distinction is made between three different types of stock:

  • The actual stock
  • The physically available stock
  • The book stock

Inventory controlling is about slimming down the warehouse in order to maintain an overview in an increasingly tight market. The aim is to achieve a possible improvement in inventories and lead times.
