Information flow in logistics
The totality of all data and information that is created and collected in a company is called information flow. This includes all internal touch points of communication from start to finish - i.e. from the sender to the final recipient.
The flow of information is part of the information logistics and should, in the best case, be possible without interruption. Because if the flow of information slows down or is even disrupted, communication can be impaired - both between people and between machines.
How can the flow of information be optimized?
In order to minimize all the risks associated with a disrupted information flow, one of the main tasks of information logistics is its optimization. This can be attempted by doing a few things:
- Prescribe and establish certain communication channels
- Use of project management tools
- Introduction of documentation platforms
- Staff meetings
- Create an internal newsletter
If there is only an unreliable flow of information in a company, this can limit the profitability of a company.
