FIFO (First In – First Out)

What does FIFO mean?

FIFO (First In - First Out) refers to a process in which goods are stored in a specific way. The articles that are stored first are also retrieved first.

FIFO is a common procedure in logistics, because items that are stored first must also be consumed first. Especially in the food industry, attention must be paid to the best-before date and to the FIFO principle.
