SLC (Small Load Carrier)

What is a Small Load Carrier?

An SLC (Small Load Carrier) is a sturdy plastic box with standardized dimensions, specifically designed for transporting, storing, picking, and providing small parts such as screws or electronic components. SLCs are widely used in warehouse logistics, e-commerce, production, and assembly lines.

A small load carrier is an efficient transport and storage system, especially in automated processes involving conveyor belts, shuttle systems, storage and retrieval machines, robots, and AGVs.

Key Features of a Small Load Carrier:

  • Stable and durable
  • Standardized sizes
  • Easily stackable
  • Ergonomic handling

SLC dimensions are often standardized according to VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) norms. However, ISO standards and Euro-pallet formats are also common. Euro-pallet formats are designed to match the 120 × 80 cm footprint of standard Euro pallets, ensuring easy integration.

Typical Standard Sizes of SLCs:

  • VDA 1: 300 × 200 × 150 mm
  • VDA 2: 400 × 300 × 150 mm
  • VDA 3: 600 × 400 × 200 mm

For specific applications, there are also variants with increased height.
