Quantity planning Definition
A smooth logistics process is primarily based on planning that takes all sub-parameters (storage capacities, throughput times, etc.) into account. Solid material procurement based on quantity planning is particularly important in the retail and manufacturing sectors. This refers to a focus on parts required for production or sales, which are defined in terms of type, quantity, deadline and, if applicable, the type of product. location (warehouse, branch, etc.).
In logistics in particular, scheduling and capacity planning are heavily dependent on quantity planning, which in turn allows orders to be optimally planned and coordinated.
