What is procurement?
Under the generic term procurement all tasks and activities can be subordinated, which serve an enterprise to ensure from enterprise-external sources the own supply of goods, operating, auxiliary and work means, so that the fulfillment of the enterprise purpose is possible. In contrast to "purchasing", "procurement" is understood to mean strategic tasks which are intended to contribute to the long-term success of the company.
