Fulfillment

What is fulfillment?

Fulfillment means "fulfillment" or "execution" in German. Fulfillment refers to the entire order processing process, particularly in the area of e-commerce. Fulfillment tasks are usually performed by logistics service providers. These then take on the following tasks, for example:

  • Acceptance of orders
  • Order picking
  • Article master data maintenance
  • Packaging of goods and products
  • Franking of consignments
  • Shipping to the end customer
  • Returns management

The logistics service provider can take on the full range of logistics tasks so that the online store operator can concentrate on the online store itself. A fulfillment contract is concluded between the two parties, which requires close communication and transparency.
