EPAL

What does the abbreviation EPAL stand for?

EPAL stands for the “European Pallet Association”. It is a non-profit registered association responsible for the production, repair, and exchange of EPAL pallets (such as Euro pallets). EPAL was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. The association represents the largest load carrier pooling system in the world. All EPAL pallets are exchangeable and meet high quality and environmental standards. They are marked with the EPAL logo and provide information about the manufacturer and production year.

EPAL ensures compliance with pallet production standards, quality requirements, and licensing. Manufacturers and repair companies can apply for licenses from EPAL to produce and repair EPAL load carriers. EPAL serves as the umbrella organization for all manufacturers and repair operations of EPAL load carriers.
