Batch tracing

What is batch tracing?

Batch tracing (internationally known as "upstream tracing") ensures that production batches can be traced back to the ingredients or individual manufacturing processes and product characteristics throughout the entire production chain, particularly in the technical sector.

Producer -> Ingredients -> Process- Product characteristics

In addition, batch tracing helps to prevent damage to the customer or consumer in the event of product recalls and to protect the company from liability for defective products.

The use of batch tracing is a must in the various areas of the company:

  • Food industry
  • Construction and automotive
  • airplanes
  • Pharmaceutical industry

Batch tracing is often used by labeling with barcodes on the goods. During goods receipt, this assigned barcode is registered and included in the computer system so that any defects can be dealt with as quickly as possible.
