Inventory Report

What is Inventory Report ?

An inventory report (German: Lagerspiegel) is a comprehensive overview or report that provides up-to-date information about the stock levels of items or materials stored in a warehouse. It shows which items are available, in what quantities, and at which storage locations.

In addition, an inventory report often includes further details such as:

  • Item numbers and descriptions
  • Unit costs and inventory value
  • Minimum and maximum stock levels
  • Reserved or allocated quantities
  • Incoming and outgoing stock movements

Depending on the company and its ERP or warehouse system, inventory reports can be even more detailed โ€” for example, including:

  • Supplier information
  • Batch or lot numbers
  • Expiration or best-before dates

Typical Uses of an Inventory Report:

  • Stocktaking and audits (inventory counts)
  • Procurement and restocking decisions
  • Business and financial evaluations
