What is e-logistics?

E-logistics refers to the methods that use digital technologies and information systems to make logistics processes more efficient, faster, and more transparent. In essence, e-logistics is a blend of modern IT and traditional logistics. The term e-logistics is short for Electronic Logistics and originates from the e-commerce sector.

E-logistics is used in areas such as warehouse and inventory management systems, transport and route planning, real-time shipment tracking, and returns management. It also plays a key role in order processing in online retail and in the automated communication between ERP and transport management systems.
