What is the required quantity?
The required quantity indicates the quantities of raw materials, components, operating, auxiliary and working materials required at a certain point in time to achieve a defined goal. Determining this required quantity is a business task for which there is a whole range of deterministic, stochastic, heuristic and rule-based methods.
The procedure for determining requirements depends primarily on the type of part to be procured and the information available.
